Castle View Preps for Playoffs

Castle View plays Fossil Ridge in the first round of the CHSAA football playoffs

Castle View (7-3) opens the first round of the 5A State Playoffs, Friday at 6pm, against Fossil Ridge (5-5).  CV earned the ninth-seed following their week 10 win over Highlands Ranch.  Fossil Ridge (the 24 seed) was the last team to get into the postseason bracket despite finishing second in the 5A Front Range conference.  Despite the large gap in seeding, Ryan Steffen, Castle View’s offensive coordinator said “ If we play our game and hit them where they’re strong we will come out with the win, but if we let the game fall away from us we will easily lose.” 

Castle View is battling injuries heading into the game, “We’ve had to cycle through a few of them which causes gaps in our offensive line,” he said. “It becomes more of a chess match or just trying to maintain the upper hand… Our plan for the game is to maintain what we’ve done and what we’ve been able to do.” 

This is the first playoff football game for Castle View since 2019. 

The game will be held at Douglas County Stadium Friday, November 3, at 6pm.  Tickets are $7 for students K-12 and seniors, and $10 for adults. Presale tickets are available here.
