Role: Moderate Needs Interventionist and English II co-teacher
“I became a teacher at CV because I wanted a job closer to home. I used to work at Elizabeth High School, and on my way home from work I got caught in a hail storm. From that point on I told myself I did not want this job and turned in my resume.
My career before Castle View was very similar to now. I was a teacher at Elizabeth for eight years, teacher in Denver for two years which was a residential facility, which meant the kids that attended were forced there by the court because of their bad decisions. So it was a very rough and hard job to work.
Before I became a school teacher I was a behavioral therapist, and the two kids I was a therapist for were in the same class at their school. So on the days that I went to school with them their own teacher became my mentor and was the reason behind why I became a teacher. In the future I see myself continuing working here at CV and by next year I want to have my own house and maybe another dog!”
Miss T is in her first year at Castle View High School.
