All students and staff are aware of what a principal does during school, but does anyone know what Castle View’s Principal does after school? Just like any regular person, Dr. James Calhoun has a family, vacation, and participates in other activities after school.
Dr. James Calhoun cares for his wife, Amy, and his two sons, Jamey and Janson. He also loves spending time with them and makes sure that he isn’t forgetting about them back at home. Dr. James Calhoun might not have much free time, but he spends it most of it on activities like riding bikes or taking spending vacation time with his family and friends.
Being a principal can be challenging because of the many responsibilities that comes with the job. To spend time with his family, Dr. Calhoun tries to incorporate both family and work together by bringing his family to support Castle View’s sports teams, clubs, and activities. “As my kids were growing up, I’d have to go to an event and I would bring them with me. So both my boys grew up going to all the high school dances that I would go to,” said Calhoun. He makes sure that his family comes first and always tries to find time for family when not at work.
Along with spending time with his family, Dr. James Calhoun loves to read educational books, play basketball, and go golfing with his friends. Dr. Calhoun: Principal, husband, and father of two, doesn’t have much time to himself, but enjoys his job as principal to Castle View High School.
