CV (Taylor’s Version)

Students are getting excited about Taylor Swift’s concert after going through considerable effort to get tickets.

Taylor Swift’s last tour, the Reputation Tour was in 2018. She has released four new albums since then, Lover, Folklore, Evermore and, most recently, Midnights. She has also rereleased two albums, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version). These albums are different from new albums because they already exist, but Swift has ownership over them.

This year; Swift is going on tour for her newest album, Midnights. The tour is called the “Eras Tour” and she will be performing songs from every album, or “era.” She is coming to Colorado and performing at Empower Field on July fourteenth and fifteenth.

Castle View students are getting very excited for the concert in Denver. Sophomore Kyler Milne has been to a Taylor Swift concert before and is going to the Eras concert in Denver.

“I went to her Reputation tour, and it was amazing, but I bet this one will be even better because she is going to be singing songs from every one of her albums,” Milne said.

Tickets for the concert went on sale on November 15, 2022, over 2 million tickets were sold and less than 5% of tickets were resold, according to Ticketmaster. Many people, including Milne, experienced difficulties while buying tickets and had to spend a significant amount of money for the tickets.

“I paid about $300 for the ticket. When I was getting the tickets we got kicked out of the waiting queue and then had to wait for about 4 hours until we got tickets,” Milne said.

Sophomore Linnea Dobosz is also going to the concert, however, she didn’t face as many difficulties in getting her ticket, although she did pay about the same amount for it.

“I paid around $270 for tickets. Although I know lots of people had trouble getting tickets, I was lucky enough to buy them from my friend who already had tickets so there were no difficulties,” Dobosz said.

Like many Taylor Swift fans, Milne has grown up listening to Taylor Swift and is very excited to see her perform live even though he’s already been to a concert.

“I love all of her music but I really grew up on her original songs,” Milne said.

Dobosz has also grown up listening to Taylor Swift and is excited for the concert because she gets to see one of her favorite artists live.

“I wanted to go to the Taylor Swift concert because I have been a fan for a while and grew up listening to her,” Dobosz said.

At the concerts that have happened so far, fans dressed up as a certain era. Dobosz is extremely excited about dressing up. She is going to dress up as Speak Now, her favorite era.

“I am most excited about dressing up,” Dobosz said. “Speak Now is my favorite era because it has a lot of my favorite songs that remind me of good memories.”

Although the concert in Denver isn’t until July, students including  Milne and Dobosz are getting ready to listen to Taylor Swift live.
