Back in Time

Every year, the school has a back-to-school dance, but due to COVID-19 there was no dance. On Aug. 26, the school held a back-to-school movie night instead of having the dance, where many students, like Jen Hyre, attended.  The movie night was a huge success for the school, having nearly half the school coming to see the old, favorite, movie Grease.

“The movie night was amazing, I honestly loved it more than the back-to-school dance. My friends and I were in our PJ’s, we had snacks, pillows, blankets,” Sophomore Jen Hyre said, “It was like having a drive-in sleepover.”

The movie night was a great experience for a great majority of the school, many even wanting to have another.

“I think the movie night was a lot of fun, and a huge hit,” Reese Plummer said “We already do 3 dances in the year so to switch it up to something we’ve never done was really cool.”

To have the joy of the movie night, student government was there to set it all up for the students.
“We had to set a plank board out and I helped sell tickets,” said Cole Winckler.

Whether the movie night was disliked or liked, COVID-19 is still around and the movie night was there to help prevent it. With COVID-19 cases still appearing, everyone must still follow the rules to keep everyone safe.

“Being outside will help COVID-19 more than having an indoor dance,” said Freshman Bailee Blake. “People are more spread out and separated.”
