Not Subject to Service

Because of COVID-19 seniors, like Izzy Brown, are excused from the necessary graduation requirement of 20 community service hours

Did you have hours before hearing that class of 2021 will be exempt of community service hours? If so, how does that make you feel?

“Yes, I had all my hours. It didn’t really make a difference for me that we didn’t have to turn them in because I had them anyway,” Brown said.

Are you relieved or disappointed about not doing it? Why?

“I’m sort of relieved because it just takes away the stress of making sure it’s all turned in on time.”

If you had the opportunity to still get those hours, do you think you would?

“I already have mine but I enjoyed doing them and I don’t regret doing it.”

Do you think the majority of students are relieved about this?

“Yes, a lot of students didn’t finish their hours and it would be hard to do it now during covid so I’m sure they are relieved.”
