The Great Pumpkin is one of the oldest Speech and Debate meets in the state. This year, it was hosted at Castle View High School, with competitors performing well throughout the day. We saw varsity members running around helping people find their way, cleaning pumpkins, or running the judging table to make sure the day ran smoothly. Mrs. Graham was the coach and host of this tournament for the third year in a row. She felt that it made Castle View’s team a leader to other more novice teams by setting an example. The team did well, with people winning awards in Dramatic Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Lincoln Douglas, and Public Form. This set up Castle View’s varsity speech and debate team for a successful season.
