Musical in Madness
Senior Amelia McCauley shares her thoughts on having a musical for the 2020-2021 school year
How long have you been doing theater at Castle View and what do you like most about it?
“I’ve been doing theater at Castle View all 4 years of high school. I love the community in this program the most, I’ve made some of my greatest friends through theater. The cast, crew and pit all work together continuously for 6 months to put together the musical, we spend pretty much every day together and that includes weekends. Next to the community we are able to build, being able to see the production come together and to see all of our hard work pay off and bring that story to the audience, is the most rewarding feeling in the world,” McCauley said.
Are you worried about COVID-19’s impact on the musical this year? why/why not?
“I am worried about the impact of COVID-19 on the musical this year. The musical is one of my favorite things of the year and something I and a lot of other people look forward to. It’s upsetting to think that there is a possibility of there not being a production this year, just due to the conditions we’re currently in. However I’m staying as optimistic as I can that we all will be able to come together in some form to put on a show this year,” McCauley said.
How is the musical going to look differently this year?
“At the moment that is unclear, we haven’t heard any information regarding the musical and how it will happen this year. Hopefully we’ll know that soon,” McCauley said.
