Team captains Sophomore Avery Phillips and senior Grace Coyne taking team pictures before the football season. The team captains gained responsibilities to lead the team everyday when they accepted the role and since have done a great job. “I put in work to help create team bondings and get us engaged in community service. Being a captain is also a lot of work just because I want to set a certain expectation for the team and be a good role model,” Coyne said.

Winning races comes easy for this athlete. Senior Ace Malone lays down on May 22, 2022 at Colorado’s high school state championship. Malone received first in the 400 meter dash through hard work and determination. “It’s a lot of determination and grit,” Malone said. “Everyday you need to put in more effort than everybody else, and do the small things that other people aren’t doing to separate yourself.”

New Year’s resolutions are a big part of the new year and people all around make new plans to have a more successful year than the previous year. “My resolution was to workout more and to get some more muscle. I am starting to go to the gym five times a week and it is going really well. I am doing a lot of lifting and actually starting to see some results. This was a really good goal for me and I am really happy with how it is going so far,” Sophomore Jack Beckett said.

Winter sports are coming up and all the teams are preparing in their own ways. Castle View basketball is a big part of sports within the high school. The gym just got redone and is ready for a great season. “New team, new look, new players. We have 5 returning Varsity players from last season so the other half of the team are all new to this level,” said coach Hema.

Is there anything that you have bought online? Jack Beckett, 10, purchases many different things online and this is a pair of Air Forces that he bought. Beckett prefers online shopping over in person because of the convenience it comes with. “Usually online I shop for clothes & shoes. There’s not a lot of stuff you can’t order online these days so I guess it’s just your preference whether or not you’d want to buy it in person,” Beckett said.

One more step! One more step! Hal Fotinos, a senior, climbs to the top of some challenging rocks on a nice afternoon. As he is climbing he is constantly thinking about what his next move should be in order to reach the top. I am just looking to climb better than last year and make state. Making state has been a goal for a while and I hope that I can do it for my last season,Fotinos said.
