CODI DAVIS, KIARA FRADIN and ANNA MURPHY –
Rounding a corner of the course, Blake Poslon ‘17 races by with words on his arms. “I wrote “Kuhn” (the coach’s name) and “Nifty Biscuit” on my arms for encouragement. It wasn’t my best race but it was pretty good” said Polson.
Pushing it to the limit, Keeton Lentz ‘17 paces himself while running up a hill at 5A Regionals. This was his last run for Cross Country until next year’s season. “Honestly, I was ready for the season to be over, but I was happy to represent my team,” said Lentz.
On the first loop of the course, Ethan Brown ‘18 rounds the corner. “I thought it was fun but scary going up against really good runners. It was challenging to not slow down and just keep running” said Brown.
Running as a group, Kori Baker ‘18, Savana Gullett ‘18, and Lauren Straley ‘19 race to the finish line. All three girls got their best personal records for Cross Country. “During the race I was trying not to psych myself out. I was really glad that my hard work payed off and it was a good way to end the season” said Gullett.
Sprinting to the front of the race, Savanna Dalton ‘16 passes the other teams by. Dalton won first place for the girls 5A Regionals and will be running at state. “I had to run by myself the whole time because I was in the front, and the girl I usually race against wasn’t racing regionals” said Dalton.
